Guard Girls’ Hope, Set Them Free
During the Lunar New Year, every household might hang spring couplets with the phrase “Travel in Peace, Return with Ease” at their front doors, wishing it will keep their family members safe from accidents and dangers, and allow them to return home safely. However, in developing countries, rampant human trafficking forced girls to be separated from their families, trapping them in countless days of despair. To return home safely becomes their simplest yet most distant wish.
Samikshya (Name has been changed to protect identity.), who lives in a rural village in Nepal, was forced to drop out of school due to poverty. At 16, she learned that her sister in India urgently needed care and took a train to visit her immediately. Unfortunately, she was drugged and soon found herself trapped in a small room with other young girls, never seeing the light of day again. Her youth came to an abrupt end, plunging her into 17 years of sexual exploitation. The long-term experience of sex work inflicted both physical and mental trauma on Samikshya, ultimately leading to a serious illness that left her paralysed.
We are raising awareness among youth to identify human trafficking risks as well as empowering girls to become advocates in their communities. |
We have set up information stations at the border of Nepal and India and inspected suspicious vehicles to rescue trafficked girls. |
Girls are not "commodities"; they all deserve the right to grow freely and pursue their dreams. During this joyous festival, we would like to invite you to send a “red packet” (one-off donation) to support our anti-human trafficking project in Nepal.
To provide long-term and stable assistance, you can also become a “Girls Fund” or “Sponsor-a-Girl” monthly donor, helping to protect girls in Nepal and other developing countries from the threats of human trafficking, child marriage, period poverty, female genital mutilation, and other forms of exploitation.
Other Donation Methods:
